United States TikTok Shop Creator Commerce Index
The D2 US Creator Commerce Index combines validated TikTok Shop US platform mechanics with clearly scoped commerce observations; the current original-data layer is a September 1–28, 2026 top-100 brand sample and does not claim to represent the entire market.
This page is the citation hub for D2's validated US creator-commerce observations. It separates what the platform officially supports from what D2 has observed in a defined marketplace sample.
Platform structure
TikTok Shop US supports Open and Target Collaboration, configurable affiliate commission, samples, and a flat-fee targeted collaboration workflow for eligible shoppable-video campaigns. These are platform mechanics, not market averages.
September 2026 observed brand sample
D2 analyzed the top 100 observed US TikTok Shop brands ranked by GMV for September 1–28, 2026. Summed GMV in that sample is $221.53 million.
Within the sample:
- Womenswear & Underwear: 25.2% of summed GMV;
- Beauty & Personal Care: 23.3%;
- Shoes: 7.36%;
- Home Supplies: 7.33%;
- Sports & Outdoor: 6.32%.
What this does not mean
The sample is commerce-weighted and top-N. It is not total US TikTok Shop GMV, not a random sample, and the category percentages are not total-market shares. Brand-level creator counts are not summed into a unique creator population.
Research gaps
D2 does not currently publish a US paid-creator rate benchmark, creator GMV distribution, creator-tier benchmark, or top-creator directory because the comparable creator-level datasets required by those pages are not yet validated. Those routes stay blocked/noindex rather than using followers or GMV as fee proxies.

Current snapshot
D2's current US Creator Commerce Index uses a top-100 TikTok Shop brand sample ranked by GMV for September 1–28, 2026.
The summed observed GMV in that sample is $221,526,917.26.
This number describes only the defined sample. It is not total US TikTok Shop GMV.
Category composition inside the sample
Within this sample, the registered category observations include:
- Womenswear & Underwear: 25.20% of summed sample GMV;
- Beauty & Personal Care: 23.30%;
- Shoes: 7.36%;
- Home Supplies: 7.33%;
- Sports & Outdoor: 6.32%.
These shares describe the composition of the top-100 commerce-weighted brand sample. They should not be reported as total US market shares.
What can be inferred
The sample can support bounded observations such as:
- which categories are materially represented among the selected top brands;
- how concentrated the observed sample is by category;
- which categories may justify deeper qualitative research;
- how D2 should prioritize category-specific creator research within this sample context.
The sample is useful for research prioritization and contextualizing category pages.
What cannot be inferred
The current sample does not support claims about:
- total US TikTok Shop GMV;
- total category market share;
- median or average US seller performance;
- unique creator population;
- creator GMV distribution;
- creator-rate benchmarks;
- creator tier benchmarks;
- top creator rankings;
- category growth rates.
Those require different datasets.
Why the sample is commerce-weighted
The sample is intentionally ranked by GMV, so high-commerce brands are overrepresented by design.
That makes it useful for observing the composition of leading commercial activity, but it makes it inappropriate as a random-market sample.
How D2 uses the index
D2 uses the index as a bounded evidence layer for market and category pages. It can help identify where deeper creator research is worth doing and where a category-specific service page has evidence support.
It is not used to fabricate missing creator-level economics.
Data and narrative separation
The index separates:
observed facts — numeric values tied to the registered sample;
platform facts — rules from official TikTok or TikTok Shop documentation;
editorial guidance — D2's operational recommendations;
limitations — what the evidence does not support.
Keeping those layers separate makes the page safer to cite and easier to update.
Refresh policy
A future refresh should preserve the same fields: observation period, sample definition, ranking method, sample size, source provenance and limitation.
If the sample design changes, D2 should treat it as a new comparable context rather than silently combining unlike periods.

FAQ
What exactly is included in the current US sample?
It is a top-100 TikTok Shop US brand sample ranked by GMV for September 1–28, 2026. The current registered summed sample GMV is $221,526,917.26.
Is the observed GMV total US TikTok Shop GMV?
No. It is only the summed GMV of the defined top-100 brand sample.
Can the category shares be treated as total-market shares?
No. The sample is commerce-weighted and ranked by GMV, so its category composition cannot be treated as a random or total-market share estimate.
How should brands use the index in planning?
Use it as bounded market context and a research-prioritization signal, then combine it with product economics, creator evidence and current platform rules for campaign decisions.
